On Oct. 17, 2024, America — Love It or Leave It, a Facebook page associated with the satire network America's Last Line of Defense, posted the claim that "Kid Rock has now made 14 trips to storm areas with a truckload of supplies each time," while Taylor Swift was "nowhere to be found":
In support of this claim, the page shared an article from the Dunning-Kruger Times, a website also associated with the America's Last Line of Defense network, that made broad claims about Kid Rock's generosity (as well as Taylor Swift's alleged lack of generosity) in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
"Our sources tell us he's heading to North Carolina whether FEMA likes it or not to deliver millions in relief and supplies to the people affected by Hurricane Helene," the article read.
These claims are not rooted in reality, as they stem from a well-known satirical source.
As Snopes has reported in the past America's Last Line of Defense is an entertainment publication that does not publish factual stories. The website carries a "Satire" tag in its footer and says on its original About page that all of its content is fictional.
Kid Rock has donated to Hurricane relief efforts. He donated $20,000 to a "Trump Authorized" fundraiser on GoFundMe after Hurricane Helene. As Snopes previously reported, Taylor Swift donated $5 million to the charity Feeding America to support victims of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Snopes has previously debunked similar claims about Kid Rock and Taylor Swift's generosity.
For background, here is why we alert readers to rumors created by sources that call their output humorous or satirical.
