While campaigning in the 2024 presidential election, Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz have been the subjects of various rumors about things they have supposedly said or written. We've fact-checked such claims, including accusations that Walz lied about traveling to Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan as a service member and rumors about Harris supposedly calling 18- to 24-year-old people "stupid."

Some claims focus on statements the candidates purportedly made in speeches or interviews, like when Walz advised against "gathering in large numbers in church" during COVID-19 lockdowns.

Regardless of the alleged statements' sources, we've done the research to confirm their legitimacy or provide necessary context. Our newsroom will continue to monitor such rumors involving the Democratic candidates.
