As former U.S. President Donald Trump and Sen. JD Vance ran for the presidency ahead of the November 2024 general election, they were the subjects of numerous misleading videos. We have fact-checked a range of them, from an AI-generated video of Trump calling Republicans the "dumbest" group of voters, to misrepresented footage claiming to show Vance as a child screaming on Oprah Winfrey's show.

One video was miscaptioned, claiming Trump was waving at nonexistent supporters, when really those supporters had just been standing far away. Another video claimed to show Trump's "cognitive decline" with him holding his son's hand to leave the stage, when in reality it captured a brief moment where they clasped hands. Meanwhile, one video misrepresented Vance, claiming he was endorsing Project 2025.

Below is a collection of our top fact checks surrounding video footage about Trump and Vance. Be sure to keep an eye on this roundup — we will frequently update it with new analyses and fact checks ahead of the election.
